Reflection:
I took these photos all throughout Newport and Sakonnet. The subject matter for this project ranged from buildings, pavilions, fences and decks. The first photo is of an ice cream shack and it was taken right in front of the sign. The second photo is of the top of a fence at the same ice cream shack as the first photo and was also taken straight on. The third photo is of the deck of the Sakonnet Sportsman Club, where the railing had cast a shadow in the shape of a triangle. The fourth photo is a picture of the ceiling in a pavilion on one of the beaches in New Port. It was about ten or 12 feet above the ground and I took it from below. The fifth photo is from the same beach the fourth photo was taken and it is of a bathroom shed near the park. I took this one from the side and the roof made another triangle. The last photo was of a picket fence across from the Newport Beaches. It was taken mostly from straight on but a little above as well. The first, third, fourth, and fifth photos are take vertically while the second and sixth photos were taken horizontally. The rule of thirds is definitely present in the second photo, the holes in the fence pretty much divide the photo into its three sections clearly. The fourth photo directs the viewer's eye, first straight up and down with the side board and then across along with the horizontal boards.

Reflection:
All of the photos in this gallery represent pattern and or motion. My favorite is the third picture across, of a chair in our school courtyard. It was taken at a close range with the camera almost resting on the top of the chair, from above so that the top would be in focus while the bottom wouldn't. The photo is taken horizontally and does follow the rule of thirds. Like a reverse gradient, the really sharp and in-focus part of the chair makes up one third while the middle and less focused section make up the second, and the top of the photo, which is the least focused portion, makes up the final one. It's is a representation of pattern. Through out the chair, there are little squares that go in rows and columns. They make straight lines up and down the back of the chair creating an neat and almost symmetrical pattern.
