Reflection:
The theme of my photo shoot is award season and Jill is modeling as a stage actress who had recently won a Tony for Best Actress. My favorite photo from the set is the fourth photo, where she is in a state of self-reflection. It was taken at eye-level as she sat on a stool with the light coming from the right side. I picked this photo as my favorite because it has a full range of values including blacks and whites and grays. There is shadow on her face from the position of the light and her hand also creates more shadow near her jaw. Her hand also acts as a leading line from the bottom of the picture to her face.

Reflection:
The images I selected for my double exposure were of a portrait of Jill and a photo of a tree. In photoshop, I arranged both photos so they appeared in the same window then I positioned the tree photo over her face and lowered the opacity so it wasn't as strong. With the eraser tool I erased the excess parts of the photo that was around her face and converted it to black and white. Conceptionally, these photos relate in the sense that while the tree branches resemble veins, it conveys the relationship between humans and nature and how we depend on nature to live, just like the blood in our veins.
